Please join us at Aikido Multnomah Aikikai on Sunday April 29, 2018 for a day of training in the spirit of friendship with our Portland area aikido community.

There is no fee for the seminar. Donations will be accepted to benefit Transition Projects, a Portland based non-profit providing resources and housing for persons experiencing homelessness. Donations can be made at the dojo or directly online at https://tprojects.org/donate.

This annual event is hosted by participating dojos on a rotating basis. Although dojos have engaged in “Friendship Seminars” historically, this annual community event was conceived and first hosted by Two Rivers Aikikai in 2006. We are pleased to host this wonderful benefit training event this year at Multnomah Aikikai. Teachers from participating dojos will teach short classes back-to-back throughout the day.

10:00am-12:30pm: Aikido
12:30pm- 2:15pm: Lunch break
2:15pm- 5:00pm: Aikido

The beneficiary of this year’s Aikido Friendship Seminar is Transition Projects, a non-profit homelessness advocacy organization servicing the Portland Metro area.

Founded in 1969, Transition Projects is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that today employs a staff team of more than 275 people working across a network of 9 program sites around Portland.

Transition Projects provides individuals with services, resources and tools they need to end their homelessness.  The program assists more than 10,000 people each year with an array of resources and services, placing more than 1,000 people into affordable housing and then supporting them to retain that housing.  

On any given day, Transition Projects provides outreach services to more than 500 people through their Resource Center as well as a safe place to sleep for more than 800 people.
